Philosophy

I don't know about you, but I like trying to make sense of the world.

As a result, I have come across or made up a few sayings or maxims that I like and that I use to guide me in my life.

Truth can be chosen
Perception is everything.

Not everybody wants to be healed
You can't force someone to get better.

There but for the Grace of God go I
If I was born into that other person's body under their conditions with their personality then I would have probably turned out exactly the same.

It is up to the people who see the problems to fix them
The people who don't know about the problems, don't know any better.

No effort, no gain
This replaces 'No pain, no gain' because I don't believe pain is necessary for gain.

If everyone does, if no one does, what will you do?
This is to make you realise how much you follow what everyone else does. Take for example eating meat. If everyone you knew ate meat, would you not eat meat? If nobody you knew ate meat, would you eat meat?

Power is the application of knowlege
This replaces 'knowledge is power'. It doesn't matter how much you know if you don't do anything with it.

Everyone does the best they can with what they have
People don't deliberately choose to be 'bad', they are just doing the best they can.

You are trying too hard if you begin to feel unhappy
A useful guideline as to when to back off.
